Milan’s event calendar has two periods that catch even experienced planners off guard — Fashion Week (February and September) and Salone del Mobile, the world’s largest furniture and design fair (April). During these windows, the city’s hotels sell out entirely, venue rates double or triple, and taxis become almost impossible to find.
